In the Final Week of the 4th Bembo Fest - Festival of Small Forms, Two Performances on Tomaso Bembo Square

On Wednesday in Bale, a children's play titled "The Eiffel Tower or How Character is Built," and on Thursday, once again, Naranča's hit comedy "How to Survive a Mother-in-Law."

This year's summer-long 4th Bembo Fest - Festival of Small Forms by independent theaters has entered its final stage, with two performances scheduled this week, both with free admission. On Wednesday, September 4th, at 8:00 PM, as part of the "Mali Bembo" program on Tomaso Bembo Square, there will be a monodrama for children titled "The Eiffel Tower or How Character is Built," written by Divna Stojanov, directed by Ivana Peroš, and performed by Romina Vitasović Lučić, an actress from Pula. The play was produced by the theater group Rondo, with set design by Breza Žižović, a visual artist from Pula, and music and songs composed by Mirjam Vukašin. The play is aimed at children, depicting the search for character in a fun and educational way, addressing the development of personality, the importance of confronting personal fears, and overcoming obstacles and challenges in everyday life.

The grand finale of the 4th Bembo Fest will be marked by the Pula-based Teatar Naranča. Due to high audience interest, the festival's final day on September 5th at 9:00 PM in Bale will feature a reprise of the hit comedy from Naranča's Scene 15+ program, "How to Survive a Mother-in-Law," written by Goran Mihovilović and directed by Majkl Mikolić. The cast includes Majkl Mikolić, Mathilde Vukosavljević, Vlatka Rubil, and Matilda Nikić. Each of them brings to life at least six authentic, colorful characters of mothers-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters, and grandchildren on stage. This "educational horror comedy" is distinguished by excellent, life-like, humorous dialogues by the author Goran Mihovilović. In addition to directing, Majkl Mikolić also adapted the play and co-designed the set with Veljko Sokol and Valentina Ferlin-Živić, who is also the costume designer for the play.

This year's 4th Bembo Fest is organized by Teatar Fort Forno, the Municipality of Bale, and the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Bale, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, the Istrian County, and the Italian Cultural Institute. From June 20th to September 5th, the festival stage on Tomaso Bembo Square presents the latest productions by independent theaters, with comedy being the central theme this year.
